FREE GNAN SABHAS IN DELHI TO PROTEST MODI’S FREEBIES REMARK.

Two days past Kejriwal’s swearing in ceremony and one day past India-Pakistan match, AAP supporters suddenly felt the vacuum in their lives.  Protesting against Modi’s freebie remark, they started Free Gnan(knowledge)  sabhas. Any aam admi with interests in any topic can start giving free gnan to people willing to listen.  Going by the response they are getting from people, AAP supporters said this shows people are wiling to accept a new system of knowledge sharing.  All those colleges and schools which charge heavily will be audited,  AAP will see if it can be expanded and implemented freely on a larger scale, which they are convinced will fix the corrupt education system and be a boon for aam parents.
A Delhi based morning walker in a park, said he already feels better in economics and financials after understanding how GDP is calculated was explained in one of those sabhas. We were explained how BJP simply tweaked the formula to come up with better GDP numbers this quarter. Now i am more knowledgeable both in economics and politics he concluded feeling happy about his decision to vote for AAP.
Meanwhile another youngster practicing cricket in nearby grounds was also hopeful of improving his game after some valuable advice he has been getting from a similar group who were diagnosing Kohli’s batting performance in Australia and the technique needed for improvement.
Congress rubbished these as  RSS -AAP combined work, pointing out that naming these sabhas with Gnan which has a sanksrit reference shows how HRD ministry smriti Irani is trying to push sanksrit into the daily lives  of Delhi’tes.
BJP meanwhile said that this practice of knowledge sharing is an ancient Indian(hindu) practice where we are used to giving away knowledge to anyone whether he seeks or not and  there is nothing new AAP has been doing.

Hope and Fear

In this period where Holy War has been claiming more lives than ever, we have been drawing up more differences between ourselves in the world of fear. The bond of Humanity is something which is completely lost, we first belong to a religion, then to a caste or a tribe then to a region and the list goes on. We have a much bigger list to differentiate ourselves now than ever. We no longer belong to the same human race nor we share the same feelings of humanity, Do we?

As the saying goes, one man`s terrorist is another man`s freedom fighter. Now is the need of more leaders protecting their subsets for freedom from the danger of hypothetical boundaries which we ourselves have created.

Youth and terrorism make for an explosive mix. A simple linear equation to understand how a cheerful youngster turns into a terrorist: Expectation - Frustration - Loss of faith - Deviation - Resistance - Armed Militancy.

Youth militancy is a pattern of behavior, which has various stages, and it starts with change in attitude, frustration, anger and ends in militancy. It depends on social, environmental, political and economic conditions and the attitude towards life. Many of them are youngsters unable to cope with these emotions. Many others rebel, and are constantly in conflict with law. Add terrorism to this mix, and you have a million disasters waiting to happen.

The word `terrorism` was first used in reference to the Reign of Terror during the French Revolution - the first public display of violence against the aristocratic class.

World leaders, political and religious, have not taken major steps to contain the militant trend in the youth, but instead have consciously promoted its growth for personal gain. But not all terrorism can be blamed on external forces. This trend may be attributed to the frustration of young people with societal, economic and governing rules, influx of refugees, lack of agrarian and industrial reforms and the indifferent attitude of law enforcing authorities. Religious fundamentalists also capitalize on the weakness of youth to a great extent. They brainwash them into believing that they are working for a noble cause, so that they turn into religious fanatics.

In Bangladesh, there has been a serious exodus of young skilled workers, manual labourers and illegal immigrants to India and other countries due to the government`s inability to tackle the problem of population explosion and the lack of economic infrastructure. The growing expectations of the youth pose a major problem to the government. `The youth of Bangladesh are at crossroads and there are religious fundamentalists waiting to take leverage out of the frustrated youth who are on the verge of an uncertain future,`

The expectations of the young are growing by the day, and this had serious ramifications. Education systems do not match the market requirements and hence more educated youth end up being unemployed or underemployed. In rural areas, lack of unemployment lead them to migration to urban areas. These migrants do some service to the urban people and they often emulate urban lifestyles. When they cannot afford to do so, they indulge in criminal activities.`
But what is the solution to all this? What will be the future of the next generation if this trend continues?

Young people around the world generate two powerful emotions in our minds - fear and hope. The fear, that they would disown and destroy all our civilization values, and the hope that they could revive, enrich, recreate and carry forward all the positive aspects of our collective heritage.

Remember, Hope is a good thingood thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies. -Shawshank redemption.

Slum"God" Millionaire

Govinda Govinda…….. Ok, hold on, I am not going to talk about filmy Govinda nor the movie Slumdog Millionaire. I am here trying to reference our Millionaire God in Tiirupathi. Before all you communal and secular folks start reasoning let me finish this. I have just started this in the Name of God. Majority of the bad and also the good things these days are done in the name of God.

One thing that hurts me the most is when I see kids working at different places in India. Hotels, construction sites, traffic signals, mechanic works, factories, anywhere and everywhere you could find work, you can find these children. We have too many organizations and government policies to contain this, but a 100% implementation is a dream far away. Poverty being the reason with no other alternatives to the parents these children are adding up to this industry.

Now coming back to our God who has been attracting millions of pilgrims from around the world for fulfilling their wishes has also been attracting a lot of these children. To grant their wishes? Childhood dreams? Nope but livelihood. Oh God thank you for providing these poor souls a piece of bread. Many of these children may not even try and have a darshan as it would consume too much of their working hours and they do not have the money to pay thousands for that comforting way of praying in shorter queues. As Mahatma once said, "people can be so poor that the only way they see God is in a piece of bread".

Poverty has been the problem for the parents and their children not our God. I do not complain. Our millionaire God, has his trust which provides many good services such as free food, education and medical services being a few important of those many services. It’s just that they are not sufficient. I do not think it’s the money that is insufficient it’s the services that are. Oh my lord I pray for that day you will provide education and food for every kid that turns up to work at your holy place.

Is it not interesting to listen to our prime minister when he says strict laws are in place for eradication of child labor and they will be implemented strictly? Oh Lord our Prime Minister cannot, you are the one who foresees the good and evil in society, Please provide good vision to all the law enforcing agencies in your holy town to see these poor children who have flooded all of the hotels and shops. I saw them everywhere; you see them everywhere then why not our law enforcement people. There are additional law enforcing people at your service for all the reasons we could think of, just bring in a thought to implement their duty. I wish, hope and pray that every child who turns up at your holy town for livelihood be identified and proper resources be provided to him for his education and living. If this cannot be achieved here where else can it be achieved? You’ve got the money; you’ve got the good people coming to you wanting to do good work and the bad people to wash away the sins. Please give them the will and means to implement these services for all those younger ones in a more efficient way.

For any of those media persons reading this please do not restrict yourselves to the occasional documentary once in months. Please take up this issue. There is nothing more grave then the future of the younger ones in our Country. If, we as a nation cannot provide food for all the children of our nation for which they have been turning into labors what does GDP or any growth percentage mean.

Oh my lord, finally, though you could not save the thousands who died in East and West, hundreds who are dying in war against religion, its just that we do not have any other source of Hope. We just cannot tell the kids that we elders have been fighting between ourselves in the name of religion, region and money and there is nothing we could do. We can tell them to pray you, our only source of hope for a better tomorrow with peace and prosperity.

Rezang La

This isn't about sounding patriotic or some other wiki stuff. This is for all those of you like me who haven't heard the words in the title until now. Rezang La isn't Spanish nor the famous Chinese action film title. Rezang La was the site of the famous last stand of the of the 'C' Company of 13 Kumaon during the Sino-Indian War in 1962. This is for the small memorial at the site , which reads:
How can a Man die Better than facing Fearful Odds,
For the Ashes of His Fathers and the Temples of His Gods,
To the sacred memory of the Heroes of Rezang La,
114 Martyrs of 13 Kumaon who fought to the Last Man,
Last Round, Against Hordes of Chinese on 18 November 1962.
Built by All Ranks 13th Battalion, The Kumaon Regiment.
The battle of Rezangla, fought at an altitude of 17,000 feet, is one of the most incredible sagas of valour and courage that Indian soldiers have showed on November 18, 1962. They fought and died for Indian soil. This is a salutation to the 114 brave men who fought until " Last man and Last bullet" in sub zero temperature.

Lets not only remember the 300 Spartans and Pearl Harbour but also remember and respect the real INDIAN HEROES and pass on their story to the generations to come.

Thank You Champs.

When i look back at the end of Australian series, and our victory against the world champions, I am not completely excited, rather sad to an extent. Yeah, there is a certain bit of saddness in me. I remind myself that I no longer can wait in a test match for Kumble to bowl that quicker one, or a googly, for those crucial wickets at tougher times. More depressing is the fact I can no more wait for Ganguly coming down the track to launch the ball into the stands of the spinners. With the end of careers of these legends has Indian cricket lost some of its viewers? I bet you argue not, with Dhonis, Yuvraj's and Harbhajan's. But somehow, if not completely lost, the sheer excitement of a cricket match in me has died to some extent. I just fear of the day when Sachin or Dravid does not step into a test match, will I and some of my friends ever turn on the match and watch it with the same enthusiasm. May be Dhoni is the star to watch out now, But my heart does not stop for that moment when he plays that mis-timed shot in air as it does for Sachin. It may be vice-versa for Dhoni's fans. I hate the feeling that my game, my religion of Cricket has started with these God's and may end with them. Is it the impact these legends had on me while I grew up watching them. Is it the age thing? Ok hold on I ain't too old to complain. I just do not respect the younger stars with what they deserve, inspite of their achievements in the same way. I do not look at Harbhajan to inspire me or the school kid with that matter the same way as Kumble did. Then i question myself do I just admire Sachin, Ganguly, VVS, Dravid, Kumble or do I worship them. Am i blind with my faith ? Am I loyal? Doesn't Yuvraj hit a six as stylish as Ganguly would do. Is it like Ganguly removing his shirt makes me proud, but the same thing with Yuvraj false pride or arrogance. Do I need to give these younger stars some time to occupy space and respect in my heart, or should i lower my enthusiasm. Has my professional life eaten into my enthusiasm? No I have been typing this in my lunch break on a typical working day at office. There a lot of questions which time will answer. We wanted our juniors to look at Sachin should I complain if my junior advices his on Dhoni or Yuvraj. Is it a all heart thing?mind thing ? i do not know. Am I too confused. Am i taking this too seriously? May be, but you forgot in India cricket is'nt just a game its a RELIGION.

But now, I would like to remind myself of all those moments these stars, and cricket as a game filled our lives with. The Morning discussions, lunch break, evening, mid night discussions and all those we had even before the exams all had our Indian team. We had our own team compositions for every series even before the selectors had. Finally I would like to thank all these players.

Thank you Anil for all those punches I had given in the air, When you took those crucial wickets, and those high5 moments I had with friends for those unpredictable balls you bowled. Thankyou for showing us what GentleMan's game is about. Thankyou for leading us in the Crucial times, and inspiring a genration of bowlers.

Thank You DADA for all those wonderful shots on Off side and the balls you parked outside the ground of the spinners and seamers. Thank you for showing us your chest at Lords, and thank you for leading the Indian side into confidence to look into the eyes of opponents.

Thank You Sachin(God) for all those 12000 runs you made for us while we sat praying before the telivision for you to make those. Thank you for inspiring a generation, a game and a nation. Thank you Jammy for being the Great Wall of India and VVS for always playing those very very special knocks.

Thank you Dhoni for making us World Champions in Twenty20 and maintaining the standards at home once again. Thank you Yuvraj for those 6 sixes and Sehwag for the same on 94, 194, 294. I am looking forwarld to all you guys, do not disappoint us. Let our religion be followed the same way. We Indians can accomdate many Gods in our hearts.

PS: The Author is currently in US and has been missing out some cricket action on live tv, though fighting out the odd time zones and internet for cricket action has been disturbed to an extent. So may forgive him for the crap.

Pray for me brother

Pray for me brother -Lyrics by Blaaze

Lookin' for the answers To all the questions In my life
Will I be alone Will you be there By my side
Is it something he said Is it something he did I wonder why
He is searchin' For the answers To stay alive
Could you ever listen Could you ever care To speak your mind
Only for a minute For only one moment In timeThe joy is around us
But show me the love That we must find
Are you searchin' For a reason to be kind, to be kind… He said… Pray for me brother
